What Formats Can I Play?

Both the Go and the Quest can play 1920p VR videos smoothly. The Oculus Quest can play 2300p videos, but they may skip or stutter at times. There is no difference in the following steps if you are using the Oculus Go or the Oculus Quest headset. Both headsets can stream videos from websites or play downloaded videos.

Streaming Videos

To stream and watch videos directly from the website following these steps:

  • Put on your headset and open the Oculus Browser app
  • Navigate to the website you wish to stream from
  • Click the login link and enter your username and password
  • Scroll or search for the video you want to watch and click on it
  • On the video page, click the play button in the centre of the image to start streaming via our web player

We always recommend using our web player. There are third-party player apps available, but we don't strictly recommend those as we can't guarantee reliability across updates.

Downloaded videos can be played using the Oculus Gallery app:

  3. Put on your VR Headset
